1. MTT Turbine Superbike Y2K
The bike is a product of sheer genius. It is the second of its kind and created by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc. The bike is powered by a Rolls Royce Allison 250 series turboshaft engine and produces a massive 320 hp. The bike has a record top speed of 227 miles per hour and starts at $150000. The Guinness World Records recognized this monster as the “Most powerful production motorcycle” and the “most expensive production motorcycle”. It does not have an electronically imposed restriction to its speed and can go to as much speeds as its engine allows. Its transmission is 2-speed automatic.
2. Suzuki GSX-R750
The bike features a 750 cc, 4-stroke engine and weighs 437 pounds. It can reach a top speed of 190 miles per hour and has 110.kW of power at 13,200 rpm. The transmission is 6-speed constant mesh. The bike was first introduced in 1985 as Suzuki GSX-R750. The current model has excellent body work and is one of the most powerful, efficient and cleanest engines around.
3. Suzuki Hayabusa
The bike is related from the Japanese to the Peregrine Falcon and has the completely deserved 3rd spot in our list. It overtook the Honda CBR 1100XX when introduced in 1999 as the fastest production motorcycle. The first generation of these bikes was powered by a 1299 cc, inline 4 liquid cooled engine. The sequel boasts and engine of 1340 cc, 4 stroke and cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, 16-valve with 188 miles per hour of top speed. The power is 197 horsepower at 6750 rpm with a transmission of 6-speed and constant mesh.
4. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
The bike is the successor to ZX-9R and has a narrow chassis, low weight and radial brakes. With its highest theft and damage claim rate among any registered motorcycle, ZX-10R easily wins the number 4 spot. It has a 998 cc, 4 stroke and cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, 4 valve cylinder head, the bike easily reaches a top speed of 186 miles per hour. The power is 147 kW at 12,500 rpm and transmission is 6-speed.
5. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14
Introduced in Tokyo 2005 show, this is, so far, the best that Kawasaki has to offer. The engine is a 1352 cc 4 stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC, four valve per cylinder and can reach to a top speed of 185 miles per hour (electronically limited). It does 0-60 mph in a barely 2.5 seconds and can cover one-fourth of a mile in 9.783 seconds.
6. Ducati 1198R
It is the successor to Ducati 1098 and was introduced in 2009. It has a 900 V-twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine that can take you to speeds of 185 miles per hour. The power is 134 kW at 9.750 rpm and the transmission is 6-speed. The bike is available in white, black and red.
7. Yamaha YZF R1
The YZF-R1 was introduced in 1998 and it took the class to a whole new level. The bike has increased handling capabilities, an offset to its crankshaft and gearbox input and output shafts. The engine is the forward inclined Parallel 4-cylinder, 20 valves, DOHC and liquid-cooled. It can go up to a speed of 186 miles per hour and has a power of 128.2 horsepower at 10000 rpm. The transmission is a constant mesh 6-speed.
8. Suzuki GSX-R1000
The superbike was introduced in 2001. It is powered by a liquid cooled engine with 999cc four cylinder strokes. It can go up to a maximum speed of185 miles per hour. It has a power of 142 kW at 12,000 rpm and a 6-speed, constant mesh, back-torque limiting clutch. To control this massive powerhouse, the bike features dual hydraulic disk brakes at the front and single ones at the rear.
9. Aprilia RSV4
It has a 999.6 cc V4 engine that can take you to speeds of 175 miles per hour. With a power of 132 kW at 12,500 rpm and a 6-speed, wet clutch, the successor to Aprilia RSV 1000 R can make you feel like riding the wind. The Aprilia RSV4 was brought on the screen at the International Piaggio Group Convention in Milan, Italy.
10. Ducati 848
It is the monster that replaced the Ducati 749 and was announced in 2007. The model introduced in 2009 came in Red and Pearl color. Its features, including the swing-arm, rake, trail and valve angles are similar to those in 1198. The engine is massive. With 849 cc, 4 valves per cylinder desmodromic liquid cooled L-twin; the engine can make you reach to top speeds of about 159 miles per hour. Its power is 100 kW at 10,000 rpm and has a 6-speed, wet clutch.
