1. The Death Road (Bolivia)
North of the Yungas Road was called as Death Road. Located at km 61 to 69 from the city of La Paz to the Coroico (capital of Bolivia, the Amazon region) in the province of Yungas, Bolivia. In the year 1995 the Inter American Development Bank called the Death Road. An estimated 200-300 people per year died as crossing the path.
At the end of 2006, after construction for 20 years, a by pass cross road from La Paz to Coroico could eventually be used. The Death Road are no longer dense as before. Consequently, the accident rate is decreased.
